First off, thank you all for your wonderful comments to my post yesterday when I was being a rageaholic biatch. The red evilness is now leaving my system so back to regular (sane) posts!
Are you guys tired of my I love fitness posts yet? well, that's too bad because today is Fan Friday (see linky below), so I get to talk about things I love. Now let's talk about my favorite thing about fitness other than getting stronger and being badass: celebrating NSVs otherwise known as "non scale victories". You bitches already know how hard it is to lose weight so we all need to celebrate something and you dayem sho' that NSVs are worth celebrating because the scale isn't the only thing that tells you you're doing an awesome job!
Actually, the scale is a lying whore, so don't listen to her. In fact, throw that bitch away.
My recent NSVs:
1// Finally burning over 400 calories during a workout! Of course, it only took nearly two fucking hours of trail running/hiking.
2// OMFG guys, look: chest striations! I haz dem! I guess all my bro workouts are working after all! I honestly wanted to rip my shirt off hulk hogan style when I saw this in the mirror.
3// Adding more plates to the bar for curls. That's 32lbs, biaaaatch!
4// Converting my door to a tricep and ab machine which gives me a different workout for these two muscle groups
A dress that fits perfectly! Photo courtesy of my 5yr old. To get the best angle, I made Kayla stand on a chair because everyone knows that mouse-eye view makes you look like a heffer.
Eating this, drinking that and not feeling one ounce of guilt because you know that one indulgence isn't going to make a dent and your body is now a calorie burning machine!
Planning your workouts keeps you on track because once you figure out your calendar, you don't have to worry or think "what will I work on tomorrow? should I do [insert workout here]? or maybe [insert other workout here]?".
Frankly, having to decide this each and every day really makes working out less desirable because it's such an effort to get hyped up when you don't even know what you're going to get hyped about. While I record my progress in a separate log book, having this calendar in my workout area is genius; I just stumble downstairs, glance at my wall and off I go to kick ass.
Lesson learned: Big Brother is watching Twitter.
WHAT ARE YOUR NSVs?
