in a previous post, i wrote about attending an amazing beauty board that my friend has every year and one of the most-loved local vendors, consonant skincare, always attends. while i already have loyalties to pure+simple face products, i was looking for an all-natural facial sunscreen because i read that chemical sunscreens are linked to cancer. seriously?!? what sunscreens try to protect you from is actually one of the sources. talk about irony.
after grilling the vendor about the product, i doled out $38 for this baby (this was the show price; the regular price is $45):
it's called The Perfect Sunscreen and it really is!
what sold me on this product is not only the fact that it's made with
100% natural and organic ingredients but it doesn't leave a white cast,
doesn't pill when you apply it and has a pretty tint to it. after my last skin freakout due to an adverse product reaction which ruined my skin for weeks, i'm now very nervous about buying new products for my skin because it's so sensitve. sunscreens have always been touchy for me - either my skin hates them (read: freaks the fuck out) or loves them.
after 3 days of using this, i'm happy to announce that this product lives up to it's name. there's no weird smell (it's actually scentless), it doesn't dry out my skin, it doesn't make my skin peel or flake, there's no irritation, redness or inflammation. it spreads smoothly and easily, it's transparent after you rub it in and your make-up just goes right on top like a dream.
if you're looking for a great all-natural facial sunscreen, this is it!
